Snigdha Ghoshal, Founder and Principal Attorney of Ghoshal Law PLLC

About Ghoshal Law

An immigration lawyer who made the same crossing her clients are making now.

Snigdha Ghoshal founded this firm after more than three decades of building a life in the United States as an immigrant herself. The practice she leads today is limited to one field of law, on purpose: immigration, and nothing else.

A question worth answering directly

Why an Austin office, and a California bar card.

Attorney Ghoshal is a member of the State Bar of California. Immigration law is federal law, so an attorney admitted in any state may represent clients before USCIS, the immigration courts, and United States consulates, no matter where that client lives. Her office is in Austin, Texas, and her practice reaches clients across the country and abroad, in person, by phone, and by video.

Her own story

The path that shaped the practice.

An immigrant herself

Snigdha Ghoshal has lived in the United States for more than three decades, and she came here the way many of her clients are coming now: as an immigrant building a life in a new country.

Three schools, one grounding

Her legal education spans the University of Texas at Austin, Santa Clara University, and Concord Law School, a foundation in Texas law alongside the wider legal community she trained in.

Member, State Bar of California

She is admitted to practice law in California. Because immigration is a matter of federal law, that admission lets her represent clients nationwide, not only within one state's borders.

A certified mediator

Beyond litigation, she is a certified mediator, trained to help disputing parties reach practical, creative solutions and avoid the cost and stress of adversarial proceedings.

Pro bono in Central Texas

She volunteers for non-profit organizations in Central Texas, has represented detained individuals in immigration court, and has assisted survivors of domestic violence through VAWA self-petitions.

The people behind the filings

A small team, in more than one language.

Across the firm, clients can be served in English, Bengali, Hindi, Spanish, and German. For a family working through a filing in a second language, that is not a small thing.

Jessica Ovalle

Immigration Paralegal

Jessica brings more than five years of specialized experience to the firm. She manages family-based petitions, adjustment of status applications, humanitarian filings, employment-based cases, and consular processing, and she is trilingual in English, Spanish, and German.

Lorecel Morales, Legal Assistant at Ghoshal Law PLLC

Lorecel Morales

Legal Assistant

Lorecel is often the first person a new client speaks with. She manages intake and the booking calendar, and she also runs the firm's digital communications, including its social media content and newsletter, to help demystify U.S. immigration law for the community.

By the numbers

Recognized by the people who worked with her, and by her peers.

Ghoshal Law PLLC has earned a BusinessRate Award, recognized by BusinessRate for outstanding client satisfaction and professional excellence, based on reputation, responsiveness, and trust within the community.
